About Us
The Sabir Lewis Foundation (SLF) is a values-driven non-profit organisation based in the United Kingdom, Afghanistan, and Uganda, working to uphold the dignity, rights, and wellbeing of refugees, displaced populations, and returnees. Our core focus is clear and consistent we work with women and children, recognising them as both vulnerable and powerful agents of change in crisis and recovery contexts.
SLF takes a SLF takes a life cycle approach, supporting individuals at every stage of life from early childhood to adulthood through our work in health, education, nutrition, and livelihoods
.
We design programmes that respond to both immediate needs and long-term aspirations, while addressing the structural barriers that limit opportunity. Our work places a strong emphasis on gender-based violence (GBV), sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR)
, and gender equality and social inclusion (GESI)
.
We believe that every person’s experience of displacement is shaped by multiple and overlapping factors, including gender, age, and disability. That is why we intentionally apply an intersectional lens to our work, engaging and supporting persons with disabilities, adolescent girls, young mothers, and other marginalised groups often excluded from mainstream responses.
What makes SLF distinct is our belief that communities are not passive recipients but active collaborators. We work hand in hand with the people we serve, as well as with grassroots organisations and local leaders, to co-design solutions that are relevant, dignified, and sustainable
At SLF, we do not simply provide services. We work to rebuild futures, restore voice, and ensure that no woman or child is left behind
